12" X 12" Treasured Moments Kaisercraft Layout (Hip Kit Club Design Team Call)

Oh those eyes.

Those "Please Nana, can I....?" eyes!!

They just melt my heart (and my resolve) every time :)

I wanted to do a special layout for my little sweetheart on Valentine's Day, so I chose the beautiful Treasured Moments, Kaisercraft collection. Though it was difficult to cover such a beautiful paper in any way, the base for my layout (a pattern named Wonder) was prepped with some Finnabair White Crackle Texture Paste and a Rebekah Meier stencil, and spritzed it with some Razzeldazzel Berry, Pop Art Pink & Before Dawn Vibez sprays from Shimmers Paints

Next I cut & distressed a couple more papers from the Treasured Moments (Ponder & Recollection patterns) collection, then I edged them, along with a few pieces of ephemera, with a Magenta Water Soluble Oil Pastel from Prima.

I added a little bird cage Kaisercraft ephemera piece to the top left corner of the layout and a cluster of flowers from Handicrafts Supplier, including gardenias and a cherry blossom. I drizzled some glass beads and pink Martha Stewart microbeads as a butterfly trail, for my Kaisercraft butterfly sticker, topped with more microbeads.

On the bottom right corner of the photo in the layout, is another cluster of gardenias from Handicrafts Supplier, as well as a curly white rose and pink chrysanthemums from Wild Orchid Crafts. Finally, a sprinkling of glass beads and microbeads. Just beneath the photo I adhered a tiny pinch of sparkly tulle to the half-doily shape, and top it with a sparkly resin heart to add a bit of whimsy to match my granddaughter's!

A couple of ticket stub ephemera pieces, edged with the oil pastel, are topped with a cherry blossom & a tiny pink Wild Orchid Crafts sweetheart blossom and one last sprinkling of beads just a few inches over.

Layouts, Layouts, Layouts...

For this first layout I used the Bo Bunny Primrose collection with coordinating brads, chipboard, and metal pieces. A few beautiful Prima flowers added the finishing touch to this 12" X 12" layout that captures my grand daughter's mischievous side!

\

I wanted to keep the layout itself quite simple so I just matted the photos with different patterned papers from the collection since I was adding different elements such as the metal butterfly, the chipboard frame as well as the brads and buttons. The lettering was also part of the Primrose collection pack.

In this memorial layout of my regal-looking ol' boy, Tigger, I wanted to accentuate the lovely Now and Then paper from My Mind's Eye. I knew I wanted to do a bit of journaling around the bird image on the paper so all I did was layer a few of the prints from the collection then I added a few beautiful Petaloo flowers for a pop of colour.

I always loved these pictures of my grand daughter playing in a Spring water puddle at the end of my driveway before taking a walk with her poppa and our dog. For this layout I used an Timeless paper from Blue Fern Studios I wanted to add an extra little something to make the photos stand out so I used my favourite Christy Tomlinson She Art stencil with some Finnabair White Crackle Texture Paste. I then spritzed some Razzeldazzel Berry Vibez spray from Shimmers Paints.

For the title of the page I used some chipboard pieces from the Mini Caption #6 Dusty Attic collection that I couloured using a Hydrangea Ingvild Bolme Chalk Fluid Edger, covered with some Amethyst Mist Lustre Cosmic Shimmers embossing powder.

Beneath the three smaller pictures I created various sized banners from other Blue Fern Studios papers, did some more stenciling, then added a lovely strip of lace trim. To finish I added a few clusters of Prima flowers & leaves.

On to my favourite layout...

In this classy-looking layout I used some papers from the Dovecraft Sweet Paris designer pack that I sprayed once again with some Razzeldazzel Berry Vibez spray from Shimmers Paints as well as a some of my own handmade golden spray.

After I matted the photo I used a beautiful Eiffel Tower print that I bordered using a EK Success punch. I also used a couple of pink ombre Recollections doilies and some wooden word pieces also from Recollections, two of which I embossed with Fran-tage Shabby Pink Embossing Enamel by Stampendous

The finishing accents to this layout include some swirly bling, a butterfly and beautiful flowers from Recollections as well as a few Petaloo flowers.

An Angel On My Lap

She'll soon be 5 years old but already these precious moments are getting fewer and further between, so when she fell asleep all snuggled up on my lap I had to grab my phone and snap a picture.

I fell in love with the Julie Nutting C'est la Vie papers which I used in layers over the background paper from the Prima Vintage Emporium collection

I layered some pretty Prima flowers with some brads and chipboard pieces from the C'est la Vie collection, added a couple of print patterned leaves and a few stamens.

On top of the scalloped half-circle at top right corner I layered some pretty polkadot dresses on foam dots and added the "Belle Vie" logo and tiny butterflies that I glittered with Stickles. I also added some brads from the Julie Nutting collection, some glittered fussy-cut butterflies and a Strasbourg vintage trinket clock piece from Prima, alongside a "This makes me so happy" sticker.

I fussy cut a piece from the paper collection with a quote that reads "Life reveals her beauty one precious miracle at a time." which is revealed to me every chance I get to spend time with my precious granddaughter.

I just love the overall flow of this lovely layout which I have entered in the monthly contest at My Creative Sketches

Cherish - 12" X 12" Prima Royal Menagerie Layout

I couldn't resist using this photo for this layout, those golden tresses provided the perfect focal point, staggered over three round doilies. I used some Gabrielle Pollaco stamps on the background to add some depth, and splattered some Prima Frost Pearl Spray to this paper from the Prima Royal Menagerie collection.

Using a Prima Stencil I added some Golden Molding Paste which I coloured with some Twisted Citron and Picked Raspberry  Tim Holtz Distress Ink.
I sprayed some chipboard pieces with Blue Fern Studios Cotton Candy Spray Mist to add as embellishments along with some blue flat back pearls and clear irridescent sequins.

I also sprayed the word Cherish with the Blue Fern Studios Cotton Candy Spray Mist and topped it with some Rangers Glossy Accents and added some pretty Prima flowers for a finishing touch.

Be A Mermaid - 12" X 12" Blue Fern Studios Timeless Layout

It's that simple....at least to a 4-year-old little girl. You want to be happy, just be a mermaid! Laila loves to play dress-up, and I love the photo opportunities!

In this layout I used the beautiful Blue Fern Studios Timeless paper collection as well as a couple of calling cards from the collection. I didn't want to completely cover the lovely graphics of the paper so all I added to the background was some Stampendous Shabby Pink Frantage Embossing Enamel.

I accented the layout with some chipboard pieces that I covered  with some Shimmerz PaintsTexturez in Crushed Coral, some Prima flowers and a few tiny bling strips.

Adore - Altered Frame

The title says it all! This is my 4-year-old granddaughter's first school picture, she started Pre-K this year, and she's growing up way too fast!

I prepped my frame with some Deco Arts Americana Oak Gel Stain and added a single layer of  Americana Dura Clear Polyeurathane Gloss Varnish. I didn't want a super glossy surface but wanted a layer of protection so I can easily wipe the frame clean.

Once the frame was dry I added some Prima Adhesive Rub-Ons and Holographic Dreams Rub-On Foil. They are so simple and fun to use, and adhered quite easily to the wooden frame.

I added the chipboard word piece "adore" that I painted with some Jaquard Lumiere Metallic Bronze Paint, it coordinated well with the tones of the stained frame and the lovey rub-ons.

A small Prima flower vine adorns the bottom left side of the frame to add some colour and compliment the overall classy look of the frame.

Poppa's Girl

I wanted to do a layout that had accented both the feminine and masculin sides of this picture of our granddaughter with her Poppa, she loves riding with him in the back yard on the ATV every chance she gets, she's been doing so since she was a baby.

I used some papers from the Sanctuary collection by Blue Fern Studios for both the background and to fussy cut to use on the top and bottom left-hand side of this layout.

I splattered some white paint and added a beautiful doily as a base for the photo. I used some Pearl Ex  powdered pigment in Interferance Red to pain the lovely chipboard corner pieces that frame the photo so beautifully.

The various Prima flowers add a soft touch and really pop against the dark background, as do the cut birdcage and flower pieces.
